Milmeq custom designs systems to optimise chilling, freezing and materials handling for dairy processing operations.
Our industry-leading chilling and freezing tunnels have been deployed in dairy processing operations around the globe, delivering improvements in operational efficiencies as well as product quality.
The Milmeq Fully Automated Stock Transfer (MFAST) system was recently launched as the first of its kind, offering superior efficiency in materials handling operations, use of space and quality of product.
The following systems and equipment have been developed to enhance processing operations within the dairy industry.
Milmeq offers industrial scale chiller design and spray chilling systems for product preservation.

Our automatic carcass chillers feature mechanised spacing and integrated indexing of product to allow for tracking and quality control.
Each chiller is custom designed to suit specific product requirements and ensure product quality is optimised. Processing rates and grading standards are key design considerations, as is the need to ensure product consistency, minimise weight loss and maintain quality presentation.
Automatic carcass chillers can be configured to allow for ageing, chilling or freezing of complete carcasses.
The automated system can be retrofitted to existing manual rails and delivers a significant labour saving.
We offer spray chiller design, installation and commissioning for beef, sheep and deer. These can be part of a new chiller installation or retrofitted into existing chiller rooms and provide a controlled mist of chilled water over the carcass to aid the carcass chilling process, minimising the degree of weight loss through moisture evaporation.
Each spray chiller installation is optimised to the species, age and size range of carcasses to ensure carcass quality is preserved. Processing rates and grading standards are key design considerations, as is the need to ensure product consistency, minimise weight loss and maintain quality presentation.
Effective spray chilling systems can reduce weight loss from between 2.5-3.5% observed with air chilling to less than 0.5% weight loss with spray chilling over 24 hours. Spray chilling can reduce yield loss during the chilling process as well as providing a more rapid rate of chilling, leading to improved carcass quality and shelf life.
We provide refrigeration designs for large scale cold storage facilities.
Each system is custom designed to suit the space and operational requirements, including those with mixed product types required to be held at varying temperatures.
